[SPayLater] Troubleshooting SPayLater checkout issues

There are several reasons why a customer may fail to make payment with SPayLater at your store. Please refer to the guide below to assist you in troubleshooting the issue encountered:


  1. Customer’s SPayLater account is frozen 


Account freeze may be due to having unpaid overdue bills, no linked repayment methods to SPayLater, or other account-related reasons. Users may resolve by paying all SPayLater overdue bills, adding a Debit or Credit Card to their Shopee app, or contacting Shopee Customer Service for further assistance.

  1. Customer’s SPayLater Available Balance is insufficient


Payment Amount is more than Customer’s Available Balance

Users can check their available balance within their SPayLater Homepage:


Under Me Page > Find the My Wallet section > Select SPayLater > View Available Balance

 

If the purchase amount is more than the user’s Available Balance, they can attempt to reduce the amount of their order when checking out with SPayLater (if possible) or use alternative payment methods.


 

  1. Payment amount is less than the SPayLater minimum checkout amount


When applying any discounts, promotions, or vouchers, users must ensure they checkout above SPayLater’s minimum checkout amounts:

 

$0.30 for 1-3 month tenures

$1.10 for a 6-month tenure

$1.60 for a 12-month tenure

 

If the Total Payment amount does not meet minimum checkout amounts, certain tenures may not be shown.

  1. Incorrect ShopeePay PIN 


For security purposes, users will be required to input their registered ShopeePay PIN for every transaction.

  • If the PIN is entered incorrectly, the user may try again for up to 2 more times. 
  • If the attempt limit is reached, please guide users to contact Shopee Customer Service for further assistance.

  1. User does not have the option of SPayLater


A customer may not have the option for SPayLater if they have recently created their Shopee account.


If SPayLater is unavailable, users can complete payment using ShopeePay or other available payment methods. 

To check for SPayLater eligibility:


Shopee SG App > Select Me Page > Find the My Wallet section > Determine if SPayLater is available.
