Eligibility Requirements for Joining the Instagram Affiliate Partnership:
Applicable to users aged 18 and above who have an Instagram account with Professional Mode or public (non-private) mode and at least 1,000+ followers.
To access this feature, users must comply with Monetization Eligibility Standards and Partner Monetization Policies.
The account must have no history of integrity violations.
How to Enable Professional or Public Mode on Instagram
Professional Mode:
Click “Profile” and then the ≡ (three lines) icon in the top right
Select Privacy and Settings
Scroll down and click Account Type
Choose Switch to Professional Account
Select the appropriate category and type
Public Mode:
Click “Profile” and then the ≡ (three lines) icon in the top right
Select Privacy and Settings
Choose Account Privacy
Turn off “Private Account” (toggle off)
How the Instagram Affiliate Partnership Works
Enable your Instagram account to Professional or Public mode
Connect your Instagram account with Shopee & ensure you are registered in the Shopee Affiliate Program
Tag Shopee products in Reels content
Additional commission is calculated from each validated purchase made through the content
How to Connect Your Account to the Shopee Affiliate Program
Ensure your account is already in Professional Mode
Click “Professional Dashboard” > “Monetization” > “Affiliate Partnership”
From Affiliate Partnership, find Affiliate Programs, then select “Shopee Affiliate Program” > click “Continue”
Click “Allow” to grant access and log in to the Shopee app
In the Shopee app, click “Continue” to connect Meta & Shopee
Once successfully connected, your account can be used to link Shopee products in Feed or Reels content
How to Create Reels with Affiliate Products
Prepare the Reels content you want to upload
Click “Add products” > choose “Shopee” under Affiliate Programs to view the product catalog
Search for products by name, brand, or paste a Shopee product link
Select the product you want to feature (estimated commission will be shown)
Click Next to confirm your selection
Click Done to add the product to the Reel
Finally, click Share to upload your Reel
