[Shopee Video] What are Shopee Video Violations & Penalties?

Overview of Shopee Video Policies:

Shopee Video is designed to offer buyers a richer, more engaging experience by showcasing authentic and relevant content. As a result, from 1 September 2025, penalties may be imposed on creators who fail to meet the platform's minimum content standards, thereby affecting the shopping experience for users.


Shopee Video Policy:

Any videos containing the following content or behaviours will be considered a violation of this Shopee Video policy and may result in penalties based on the severity and frequency of the offence.


Each violation can incur up to 15 penalty points.

Users who accumulate 15 or more points will be permanently banned from posting on Shopee Video.

How long do penalty points last?


Penalty points will automatically expire and reset to zero on the first day of every quarter of the year: 

  • First quarter: 1 January

  • Second quarter: 1 April

  • Third quarter: 1 July

  • Fourth quarter: 1 October


If a user receives penalty points a few days before these dates, the penalty points will expire but the user will still be banned from posting videos for the duration of the ban.


This reset is not applicable to users permanently banned from posting on Shopee Video.

Creators who commit a video violation can view the proof of the violation upon receiving it. This helps provide clarity and understanding to prevent future repeat violations.

Creators can also review any violations from the past 30 days under Violation Videos on the Video Health page. Each record will include the type of violation, the time it was detected, and the appeal status (if applicable). Violations are listed from newest to oldest.

Creators may submit an appeal via the Shopee App if they believe there is no basis for the penalty points issued for their content. If the appeal is successful, the penalty points will be removed. If the video was subject to a ban, the video will be made available on Shopee Video. If the video was subject to deboosting measures, such measures will be removed.
