[ShopeePay] Pay Smarter Across Borders

ShopeePay now supports payments for overseas merchants using Alipay+, enabling a seamless and convenient checkout experience for you. 


1) How do I make payments?

Step 1: Look for Alipay+ logo



Step 2: You can pay in either of the following ways:



A. Scan the merchant’s QR code

Open ShopeePay in your Shopee app, tap ‘Scan & Pay’, and scan the merchant’s QR code to complete your payment.

B. Let the merchant scan your QR code

Tap ‘Scan & Pay’, then select “My QR Code / Barcode” to generate your personal QR code for the merchant to scan.

2) Who can use Pay Smarter Across Borders?


This service is available to all ShopeePay users who have completed the verification process. Please ensure your ShopeePay wallet is activated and verified in your home country. You may see steps to verify here.


3) What currency will I be charged in when I make a payment abroad with ShopeePay?


You will be charged in SGD. 


4) What is the currency exchange rate for overseas transactions? Will I see both SGD and foreign currency when making payment?


You can see the currency exchange rate on the checkout page when making a payment.

· The purchase amount in the foreign currency

· The exchange rate from the foreign currency to SGD

· The converted amount in SGD

· Any applicable fees or discounts before you confirm the payment

5) Can I get a refund for a purchase made overseas?

Refunds are subjected to the terms and conditions of the specific merchant. If the merchant agrees to a refund, it will be processed back to your ShopeePay wallet in accordance with the ShopeePay terms of service. Processing time may vary depending on the destination country. Refunds are valid for 365 days where the original payment amount (including FX rate used) will be refunded to the user.

You may request a refund directly from the merchant, as they can refund the amount immediately. If the merchant is unable to process the refund, please contact our Customer Service team for further assistance.

7) Are there any spending limits or restrictions?

Yes, your ShopeePay wallet is subject to transaction limits. Further details of such limits can be found here.
