Effective 1 Aug 2025, Shopee will implement a service fee of 1% (capped at $5 per payment cycle) on the total commissions earned by all Shopee Affiliates. 

This change allows us to continue improving the Shopee Affiliate Program, and bring you even more useful tools, richer insights and greater opportunities to grow your success with Shopee, which include:

• XTRA Commissions Protection for up to seven (7) days, providing added security for affiliates in the event sellers reduce the commission rate for any XTRA Commissions products after your content goes live.

• Smarter Performance Insights: Understand your audience and content better with detailed analytics on demographics, clicks, views, and conversions—all available on the Shopee Affiliate Program portal, so you can continue to improve strategies for your next campaign

• Monthly campaigns and initiatives designed to drive your growth, such as Order Driving Challenges, Upsized Commissions and many more. 

The service fee will be reflected on the Shopee Affiliates payment bill issued weekly.

Calculating the service fee

Service Fee = 1% x {{Total Commissions Earned}}

Example:

- Affiliate A earns a commission of $300 before tax in 1 payment cycle.

- Affiliate B earns a commission of $800 before tax in 1 payment cycle.

The corresponding service fee deductions for respective payment bill are as follows:

- Service fee for Affiliate A: 1% x $300 = $3

- Service fee for Affiliate B: 1% x $800 = $5 (reaching the maximum service fee limit of $5)

This service fee will be automatically deducted by Shopee’s system when the commission is disbursed to the Affiliate.

*Note: The service fee applies to all Affiliates, MCNs, and legal entities, except for commissions generated through YouTube Shopping.

2. When will the service fee take effect?

The policy will take effect starting from the payment reconciliation period of 1 Aug 2025. 

3. Who does the service fee apply to? 

The  service fee applies to all Affiliates registered under the Shopee Affiliate Program, including MCNs and legal entities. Only commissions generated through YouTube Shopping are exempted from the service fee. 

4. Is there a minimum commission amount before the fee applies?

No, the service fee applies to the total commission earned, regardless of the amount. There is no minimum threshold.

5. Is this service fee automatically deducted?

Yes, the service fee is automatically deducted by Shopee during each payment cycle. The net commission (after deduction) will be reflected in your ‘My Income’ section within the Affiliate Portal.

6. Why is Shopee introducing this service fee?

The service fee supports the continued enhancement of the Shopee Affiliate Program, allowing us to provide more tools, insights, and campaign opportunities to support our Affiliates’ journey.

7. If I dispute a commission or report an issue, will the service fee still apply?

The application of the service fee in such cases is subject to Shopee’s review and final decision, based on the circumstances of the dispute or issue reported.
