It is important to keep your phone number and email address updated on your Shopee account because important notifications and account verification details are sent through these channels to maintain the security of your account. This includes OTP, verification code or authentication link for 2FA and notifications of critical account information changes or unauthorized logins/transactions

Updating your information protects you against fraud risks, such as unauthorized logins after a change in phone number. (where the previous phone number is recycled and used by someone else).

You can edit your phone number and email address via the Me tab on Shopee App > Select the ⚙ icon (Account Settings) > Account & Security > Edit phone number and email address.
