What is the difference between ShopeePay merchant and SPayLater merchant?

ShopeePay

ShopeePay allows merchants to accept cash-free payments securely and conveniently, both at physical offline stores and online platforms (such as brand websites and apps). By using ShopeePay, your business gains access to Shopee’s vast user base, enabling customers to discover your brand as they browse through ShopeePay merchants.

 

Both independent and registered businesses are welcome to apply to become ShopeePay merchants. 

In addition, ShopeePay merchants are eligible to onboard SPayLater, a buy-now, pay-later service provided by SeaMoney Singapore Private Limited.


SPayLater 

With SPayLater, buyers can make immediate purchases and choose flexible repayment options. This service is available in-store and on external online platforms beyond Shopee.

 

Merchant Feature

  1. Prime User Engagement: Attract over 2 million eligible SPayLater buyers by offering flexible installment options of up to 12 months.
  2. Risk Protection: We bear credit risk, ensuring that merchants receive full settlements as usual.

  3. Exclusive Marketing Support: Merchants using SPayLater may be selected for additional visibility, including exposure on dedicated microsites.

 
Buyer’s Feature
  1. 0% Interest: Buyers can select up to 3-month plans at 0% interest, with reduced interest rates for longer tenures (6 and 12 months).
  2. $0 Down Payment: Buyers can check out without any upfront payment, within their approved spending limit.

  3. Flexible Repayment Plans: Buyers have the option to repay in up to 12-month installments, with low minimum payments:

    • 1-3 month tenures: $0.30

    • 6-month tenure: $1.10

    • 12-month tenure: $1.60
