How to report fraudulent or corrupt behavior of an employee?

At Shopee, we value your trust and safety as we conduct business lawfully.

This reporting channel provides avenues to report any incidents of fraud or corrupt behavior occurring within Shopee or relating to Shopee’s employees, in good faith, without fear of retaliation, for appropriate investigation and action. 

The channel is managed by the Internal Compliance Team; an independent team responsible for the investigation of internal fraud and corruption offences. A preliminary assessment will be performed upon receipt of your report. However, an investigation will only be conducted when there is credible and sufficient information to do so. Therefore, you are encouraged to identify yourself when making the report so that further information can be sought if necessary. 

The following principles will be observed with regard to any such concerns raised in good faith:

  1. Confidentiality: All reports made along with the identities of the whistleblowers will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by laws and needs of investigation.
  2. Non-Retaliation: We adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards unlawful retaliation against complainants.

Examples of reportable Incidents against an employee:

  • Corruption or Bribery: 
  • Requesting payment through unauthorized payment methods or options
  • Requesting payment for fictitious services
  • Requesting money or gifts in exchange for an expedited service
  • Fraudulent behavior:
  • Collusion with a third party to receive a benefit
  • Misappropriation of Company assets
  • Omission or misrepresentation of information for unfair or unlawful gain
