Livestreams on Shopee Live are designed to provide a more engaging experience for shoppers, allowing them to interact directly with sellers. As a result, penalties may be imposed on sellers who fail to meet the platform's minimum content standards, thereby affecting the shopping experience for users.
Livestream sessions may also be terminated immediately. Penalties include:
Warnings
Deboosted livestreams (reduced visibility on Shopee Live page, which can lead to decreased traffic and fewer views)
Temporary bans from Shopee Live
Permanent bans from Shopee Live

Violations committed during your livestream sessions — even minor violations — can lead to the deboosting of your future sessions. Deboosted sessions will be less visible on the Shopee Live page, which could affect the overall performance of your livestreams.
To prevent your sessions from getting deboosted, we strongly urge you to look through the list of violations carefully to understand what actions/content are not allowed for livestreams. Please abide by our guidelines to maintain a safe and fun livestream experience for all while increasing your shop’s visibility for success.
Any livestream session that contains the following type of content/behaviour would be in violation of our Shopee Live guidelines and be subjected to penalties, based on severity:

Any content related to human exploitation (e.g. human trafficking/smuggling), which are defined as:
Human Trafficking: the unlawful act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harbouring or receiving people through coercion, force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for benefit or profit
Human Smuggling: the provision of a service, typically transportation or fraudulent documents, to an individual who voluntarily seeks to gain illegal entry into a foreign country

Host verbally asking viewers about their product nominations

Viewers sending private messages to host before and/or during livestream to request for products to be added to the livestream shopping bag
Viewers listing down and/or commenting on products that they want to be available in the livestream
Viewers requesting for certain products to be added to the livestream shopping bag, in order to meet criteria for free shipping

Engaging in sales or usage of false engagement tools are not allowed. Examples include but are not limited to:
Attempt to sell platform engagement tools (e.g. comments, likes, followers)

IP Infringement
Livestream sessions that violate a seller/brand owner’s intellectual property rights (copyright and trademark) will be removed. These includes but are not limited to:
Pre-recorded news, films, TV series, sport events, concerts, variety shows
Playing streaming content without appropriate licensing (>3 mins)
Reposting content from other platforms without any edits
Using unlicensed music

Livestreams featuring competitor platforms in the form of picture, text and/or video.
Examples include but not limited to:
Repost livestreams from competitors platforms
Displaying and actively promoting competitor's platforms
02 Third Party Transaction
Directing Transaction Outside Shopee
Providing links/details/QR Code that encourage viewers to engage in external transactions or redirect them to third-party platforms is not allowed
03 Vulgarity

Display of Tattoos larger than 35 square inches

01 Low Quality Content
Poor Picture
Streaming quality is poor, such as those that are blurry, pixelated, or video lag
Recommend checking your network and ensuring a stable connection
Poor Sound
Abnormal sounds, such as sharp/harsh background noise which can be unbearable, or inappropriate sounds
Audio is continuously not stable e.g. playing and stopping intermittently due to technical issues
No sound at all
02 Unprofessional and Meaningless Stream
No Visible Host
To maintain the quality of livestreams on Shopee, livestream sessions that do not have a host, are left unattended, host body part is not visible or do not contain real-human explanations will be given a warning.
No Product
Products are not shown properly and/or does not contain any product explanation. Streamers should make sure that the product is shown clearly during the livestream.

You can pause the livestream for up to 3 minutes if you need to leave the livestream unsupervised or without a host.

03 Gory Images
Graphic Content
Livestream hosts found attempting to stream/promote/ask for graphic content will be given a warning. Graphic content includes but are not limited to:
Extreme physical fighting
Distressing material that may cause anxiety or fear (e.g. showing dead animals, gory makeup, jumpscare effects, etc)
Showing sexual activities between animals

Shopee reserves the right to change or modify the above non-exhaustive violation guidelines and issue penalty points where deemed necessary.
Livestream hosts who have committed a Livestream violation can view their proof of violation when they receive the violation. This will provide violators with greater clarity and understanding about the violation to prevent future re-violations. All violation records are available under "Manage Violation" on the livestream homepage. You will also be able to see specific proof of violation tagged to each violation.

Proof of violation is only displayed if it contains non-severe or non-expired violations
Livestream hosts can submit an appeal via the Shopee App if they believe their content has been wrongly penalised. All appeals must be submitted within the given timeframe to be assessed.
Livestream hosts can submit an appeal for each specific violation once (e.g 5 different committed violations means the Livestream host can submit 5 violation appeals). You will have to fill in an appeal which consists of a compulsory description section. Depending on the type of violation, you may also have to submit supporting documents.
You may track the status of the appeal beside the violation record. Livestream hosts will also be notified of the results via an inbox notification.
