1. How do I submit a claim?

  • If you are overseas and require any emergency assistance, please call the MSIG Assist 24-hour hotline at +65 6323 8288.
  • If you wish to file a claim on your insurance, you have to do so within 30 days of the insured event(s). Please submit your claim online through the MSIG website.

COVID-19 related FAQ

2. Am I covered for medical expenses if I am diagnosed with COVID-19 while overseas?

If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 while overseas, medical expenses will be covered for up to 60 days from the date you were diagnosed by a doctor or government-approved personnel. You must submit documentary proof showing the date you have taken the COVID-19 test and were diagnosed as positive.


3. Am I covered for medical expenses if I’m tested positive for COVID-19 within 72 hours of returning to Singapore?

We do not pay for COVID-19 medical expenses incurred in Singapore. 


4. I have tested positive on arrival overseas but have no/mild symptoms. I am being sent to a COVID-19 facility/government-approved hotel to be quarantined for 10 days. Am I covered?

If you are tested positive by a doctor or government-approved personnel within the first 90 days of the trip overseas and are required to undergo quarantine, we will pay a daily benefit for each 24 hours of quarantine, up to 14 days, at a government-approved hotel or COVID-19 medical facility, provided you are liable to pay for the charges incurred at the facility.


5. What should I do if I am tested positive for COVID-19 while overseas?

6. Am I covered for travel cancellation if I am diagnosed with COVID-19 in Singapore? 

Yes, we pay for the travel cancellation you are unexpectedly and unavoidably prevented from commencing the journey due to any of the following insured events which take place within 30 days before the start of the journey:

  • You or your travel companion is diagnosed with COVID-19 by a doctor or government-approved personnel.
  • You or your travel companion is quarantined or isolated by the local authority due to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection.
  • Your family member is hospitalised or passed away due to a COVID-19 infection.
  • You or your travel companion is denied boarding of the public transport by the local authority or transport provider on the scheduled departure date due to COVID-19 symptoms and thereafter tested positive for COVID-19 by a doctor or government-approved personnel within 5 days from the scheduled departure date.
