To keep your Shopee account secure, protect your personal information and transact safely by following these guidelines: 

1. Never share your account password, One-Time Password (OTP), and ShopeePay PIN number

These are confidential information that should not be given to anyone, including family and friends. Account password and OTP are usually used for verification purposes for certain actions, such as changing account information.

⚠️ Note

1. Shopee will never ask for your personal information.
2. Beware of situations where scammers may pretend to be Shopee employees and ask for your personal information, claiming that you’ve won a prize. If you have received messages or calls of this nature, please contact our live chat agent to confirm their authenticity.

2. Set a strong password and ShopeePay PIN number

A unique password and ShopeePay PIN number will help to keep your account secure. Changing them periodically also provides an additional layer of security.

A strong password would:

1. Consists of at least 8 characters.
2. Consists a mix of numbers, symbols (e.g. !@#$%^&*), uppercase and lowercase letters.

For both password and ShopeePay PIN number, ensure that you:

1. Do not use your personal name, username, or date of birth.
2. Do not use consecutive characters, such as “abcd” and “0000”, or keyboard sequences such as “qwerty” and “147852”.

3. Access your Shopee account and transact only via the official Shopee App/Website

Always double check links and ensure that they belong to our official Shopee website at https://shopee.sg. Never trust anyone who directs you to make transactions outside the official Shopee platforms.

⚠️ Note

1. Scammers may send you links that look similar to the official Shopee website and ask you to share personal information or download a file.
2. Shopee will never ask you to download anything or log in to any website other than the official Shopee website.

4. Keep your account information up to date

Ensure your account information, such as phone number and email address, are up to date. This is important as you will receive important information, such as One-Time Password (OTP), and updates from Shopee via your phone number/email.
