How do I claim the Protection service after purchase?

Here are the steps to claim for your gadget or electronic devices/appliances due to accidental or liquid damage from the Electronic Protection or Gadget Protection you purchased via Shopee.


  1. To claim Electronic Protection or Gadget Protection via Shopee App
  2. You can access your policies in the Shopee App 
  3. Once you have located the specific policy you want to claim, select Claim and follow the steps provided by Igloo/XCover.com to complete your claim journey.


  1. To claim Electronic Protection via Igloo Portal
  2. Log in to the Igloo Portal using your registered mobile number/email with Shopee and enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number/email
  3. Once you are logged in, you will see the list of policies you have with Igloo. Select the policy you want to claim by selecting Fill in Details.
  4. After filling in the necessary details, select Claim Now and provide a photo of the damaged device as proof > Select review and submit.
  5. After you have submitted, Shopee’s partner Igloo will review and send you a confirmation email to bring the damaged phone to one of the repair centres being suggested or send the damaged mobile phone to that address.


⚠️ Note 

  1. Claims must be submitted within 90 days after the incident causing the accidental and/or liquid damage.
  2. If you choose to get your electronic device repaired at an Igloo service center, you will only need to pay the deductibles and excess amount (if any). If you choose other repair shops, you will be required to pay for repair costs first and file for reimbursement after. Upon completion of the repair, please submit repair information to the same service center and provide repair details (i.e., photos of the repaired item with proof of purchase and the repair receipt with amount) and your bank account details for reimbursement.
  3. If the electronic appliance cannot be repaired or is beyond economical repair, you will get a replacement of the same appliance, a like-kind in the same condition or a refund.
  4. You will be reimbursed within 7 working days from the date of claim approval.


  1. To claim Gadget Protection via XCover.com Portal
  2. Click into the link sent to you via SMS and email to create an account using the Shopee registered phone number or email
  3. Log in to the XCover.com Portal using your registered mobile number with Shopee (or XCover.com Portal using your registered email with Shopee) and enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number/email.
  4. Select the policy and benefits you wish to claim > input the necessary details and provide a photo of the damaged device, proof of purchase, and your identification card (ID) as proof > Select review and submit.
  5. After you have submitted, Shopee’s partner XCover.com will review and send you a confirmation email to bring the damaged phone to one of the repair centres being suggested or send the damaged mobile phone to that address.


⚠️ Note 

  1. Claims must be submitted within 30 days after the incident causing the accidental and/or liquid damage.
  2. The extent of the claim will be assessed and you will be informed on how to get the item repaired (walk-in) or replaced. If walk-in repair is suggested, you may proceed to the authorised repair shop(s) or service center(s) nearest to your preferred location.
  3. When sending the damaged mobile phone to the service center, you will be required to pay for repair costs first and then claim reimbursement for it. After completion of the repair, please submit repair information on the same site and provide repair details (i.e., photos of the repaired gadget with proof of purchase and repair receipt and input the repair amount) and bank account details to get reimbursed within 3 working days.

If the gadget is unrepairable or beyond economical repair, you will either get a replacement or a cash disbursement, as you wish. How do I make a claim under the Damage Protection service? You can make a claim under the Damage Protection service for your brand-new items (outside electronics/gadgets) due to accidental or liquid damage, fire, flood, lightning/short circuits, and wear & tear.


Making a Claim

Go to the Partner’s portal > Log in to your registered mobile number/email and key in the One-Time Password (OTP).


Select the policy and benefits you wish to claim > input the necessary details and provide a photo of the damaged device, proof of purchase, and your identification card (ID) as proof > review and submit.
